 Overview 简介

The School of Philosophy at Wuhan University is pleased to announce the debut of the Luojia Undergraduate Philosophy Conference. During this conference, students will present their own work in a formal setting. Students will present for 20 minutes, followed by a brief 5-minute commentator, and then questions and answers. The conference is an annual conference, with its inaugural conference in 2022.

Currently, we are accepting applications from students who would like to participate in all of the conference proceedings by presenting papers. Any undergraduate student interested in philosophy in mainland China is welcome to apply.

The purpose of the conference is to promote the professional development of students of philosophy in China by offering them an opportunity to participate in high-level philosophical discussion, cultivate their ideas on topics of interest, and engage with the growing internationally recognized philosophical community in China.

The conference is hosted by the School of Philosophy at Wuhan University. It will be held in Wuhan on 14 + 15 May 2022,and will be conducted entirely in English. Its topic will be Themes and Problems in Analytic Philosophy, which includes but is not limited to: metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, metaethics, the philosophy of mind, the philosophy of language, and the philosophy of science.

The keynote presenters for the conference will be Lu Teng (NYU Shanghai) and Xiaofei Liu (Wuhan University).

我们很高兴地宣布：武汉大学哲学学院将举办珞珈本科生哲学会议。会议期间，参会同学将会正式展示自己的学术研究。参会同学需要报告20分钟，随后回答评议人5分钟的评论和提问，然后回答观众提问。本会议为年度会议，2022年为首届。

我们欢迎任何对哲学感兴趣的中国大陆高校本科生申请会议并作报告。

通过此次学术会议，你可以获得参加高水平哲学讨论的机会，与我们学院多位获得国际认可的老师交流互动，发掘自己感兴趣的领域和话题，提高自己的学术水平。

会议的具体时间是2022年的5月14日和15日，会议全程将使用英语。会议的主题是分析哲学中的诸多议题，包括但不限于：形而上学、认识论、伦理学、元伦理学、心灵哲学、语言哲学、科学哲学。

会议邀请了两位特邀发言人做专题报告。第一位发言人是上海纽约大学的滕璐老师；第二位是武汉大学的刘晓飞老师。

Instructions 申请要求

We seek to accept applications from students who are able to demonstrate clarity and insight in English-language philosophy. Please submit, in one email, the following material to the conference email address, APhil_undergra2022@126.com:

1. A cover page that includes:

o Name

o Affiliation

o Contact information

o Short abstract (under 200 words)

2. Blinded for review:

o A paper suitable for a 20-minute presentation

§ English language (exceptions for technical terminology)

§ Argumentative (clear thesis, etc.)

§ Suggested length: 2000-4000 words

The deadline for submission is 24:00, 1 April 2022. The applications will be anonymously reviewed by a committee of professors, who will evaluate the applications on the basis of the paper's clarity, insight, and overall quality of writing and scholarship. They will make their final decision by April 15 and share the verdict with all submitters.

申请的截止日期是2022年4月1日24:00。数位教授组成的委员会将会对所有申请进行盲审，评价标准包括论文的清晰程度、观点是否具有洞见、写作质量等等。在2022年4月15日之前，我们将会告知各位同学申请是否通过评审。

Funding 花费

Due to generous funding from the School of Philosophy at Wuhan University, we will be able to cover many of the costs for the conference participants, including travel and lodging.

鉴于武汉大学哲学学院对会议的资助，我们将报销所有参会同学的往返旅费及住宿。
