John Makeham梅约翰，现任澳大利亚国立大学哲学系教授主要研究领域包括中国哲学，比较哲学，新儒学。

John specializes in Chinese intellectual history, especially the intellectual history of Chinese philosophy. He has a particular interest in Confucian philosophy and, in more recent years, the influence of Sinitic Buddhist philosophy on Confucian philosophy. He is currently involved in two collaborative projects: (1) translating key Chinese and Tibetan commentaries on Dignaaga's Aalambana-pariikshaa (Investigation of the Object), a text that played an influential role in the modern revival of Yogacara Buddhist philosophy in China and Tibet; (2) examining the Buddhist roots of Neo-Confucian philosophy.

He is editor of the monograph series, Modern Chinese Philosophy (Brill)and welcomes manuscript submissions!

New publications include an edited volume, Transforming Consciousness: Yogacara Thought in Modern China (Oxford 2014); and an annotated translation of Xiong Shili’s Xin weishi lun (New Treatise on the Uniqueness of Consciousness) (http://yalepress.yale.edu/yupbooks/book.asp?isbn=9780300191578).
